The Legal Aid Cell of the Kolkata Police Law Institute works to guarantee that justice is distributed fairly across all societal segments while keeping the principles of the Constitution in mind. In order to do this, it works to advance free legal aid so that those who might be less privileged in our society, can access the legal system and courts on the same conditions as those who are more fortunate

In addition to helping the community, The Legal Aid Cell of the Kolkata Police Law Institute offers students numerous chances to improve their legal knowledge and abilities, educates them about the difficulties faced in the field, and allows them to assist those in greatest need of their assistance

Since its founding, the KPLI Legal Aid Cell gas arranged legal literacy and legal help camps in nearby villages and slums. Historically, legal assistance has primarily assisted the most vulnerable and impoverished people. This would imply that, even while our attention is directed on the most vulnerable, we do not downplay the worries of individuals who are relatively well off with regard to certain matters like consumer protection and the right to knowledge, among other things

In order to educate the public about their legal rights, legal institutions, and social welfare laws that are intended to benefit them from both economically and socially, faculty and students collaborate with the District Legal Services Authorities to host legal literacy camps, which are primarily held in rural and socio-economically disadvantaged areas and schools. Students working under the supervision of faculty members also provide legal counsel to clients who are facing social, marital, or administrative abuse during the camp. They would collaborate with nearby non-profits and attorneys in addition to supporting the designated advocate. In order to fulfill the promise of free legal aid and equality before the law made in the constitution, community members who are unable to pay for assistance. Students gained insightful knowledge, were exposed to a wide range of topics, and were able to pinpoint certain areas that needed legal attention
