ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE

Ragging means any conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes of likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a student or asking the student to do any act or perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of any student.
The University Grants Commission has enacted the ‘UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009’ to control the menace of ragging., Kolkata Police Law Institute, In accordance with this regulation has constituted the anti-ragging committee.
The objective of this committee is to root out ragging in all its forms from this Institution,
reventing its occurrence and punishing those who indulge in ragging in any form by act or omission.

PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT

As per the guidelines of University Grants Commission, NAAC and Honourable Supreme Court, prevention of sexual harassment of women at workplace cell has been established in Kolkata Police Law Institute to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the students and female staffs of the Institution.

As per the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act), the Institution has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) names Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women, Women Cell and Legal Awareness Committee comprising of senior faculty members of our Institution.

OBJECTIVES:
Sexual Harassment in any workplace or college is considered as violation of women’s right to equality, life and liberty. The committee ensures that, there is no insecure and hostile teaching-learning environment which discourages women’s participation in college, thereby adversely ffecting their social and economic empowerment and the goal of inclusive growth.
